The Opportunity
Our client is currently looking to expand their team and is seeking an experienced Engineering and Technical Project Manager to support the E&T function within the Civil Works Programme.

The role
As an Engineering and Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the costs and schedule within the Conventional Island and Balance of Plant (CI-BOP), with a focus on the following: E&T budget and Schedule; Design Supply Chain Contracts; Co-ordinating with the client Commercial & Procurement Teams on current and future contracts. You will collaborate with the Technical Engineering Manager to align cost and schedule with technical and quality priorities, ensuring effective and on-time design delivery.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Management of the E&T budget in their specific scope area and managing budgets within delegated authorities.
- Schedule of the E&T scope in their specific scope area, supported by the E&T schedulers. Ensuring that the Design Schedule is updated to support planning of the L3 Design Supply Chain Deliverables and ultimately ensure that Execution Design Ready (EDR) is available to support timely construction and meet the Construction Need Dates.
- Managing changes to cost and schedule through the client Change Management process, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events for their specific scope area.
- Responsible for the management of L3 Design Supply Chain Contracts following Signature of Contract including the use of CEMAR for managing the L3 Design Supply Chain claims and variations.
- Engaging with the L3 Design Supply Chain with client Procurement to outline and prepare the Design procurement process.Co-ordinate with Civil Works Alliance and the other programmes (NI, CIBOP, SEOI) on the Design Delivery schedule and associate milestone logic.
- Provide technical assistance to the client procurement teams and client commercial teams in setting out the scope of design to be delivered and support the Tender process so that the procurement of the Design contracts, Task Orders are delivered in a timely manner against the agreed schedule in accordance with client Governance Procedures.
- Lead on engagement with the CWP Delivery Senior Project Manager managing the RD/DDB for the E&T function (in their scope area) to ensure that the RD/DDB services are well coordinated with the L3 Designer services with regard to schedule. (Technical co-ordination is through the Design Manager).
- Manage E&T Risks in accordance with the client Risk Management Process for their scope area working in collaboration with the Design Manager.
- Responsible for reporting on delivery in accordance with client Project Reporting requirements and cadence.
- Coordinate with CWP Delivery Senior Project Manager for the E&T function (in their scope area) to align Design priorities with Delivery needs.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

- Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE), or demonstrably working towards chartership, or accreditation with Association of Project Managers (MAPM).
- Experience in the Project Management of large and complex projects.
- Ability to manage and work to budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes.
- Established and practical skill and experience across concept design, detailed design and construction stages, including management of design phases.
- Desire to provide, technical leadership and collaboration within a technically orientated delivery team.
- Experience of working with, and managing, focused technical teams including management of suppliers.
- Proven experience effectively managing stakeholders, both internal and external, both technically and commercially.
- Ability to communicate and engage effectively at a range of levels: Management Team, client stakeholders, design delivery teams and third-party authorisers.
