Location: Plumstead, South East London
Salary: Up to £23 per hour DOE
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (with 30-minute lunch break)
Are you passionate about cars and have a sharp eye for detail? Our family-run Crash Repair Centre in Plumstead, South East London, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Prepper to join our Automotive Paint team. As a Vehicle Prepper, you’ll play a vital role in preparing vehicles to the highest standards, with the opportunity to take on painting duties. Key Responsibilities of Vehicle Prepper:
- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and apply coatings to vehicle surfaces to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Masking and Taping: Expertly mask and tape areas to protect them from overspray during painting.
- Painting Duties: Paint vehicles daily between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, and take on full painting responsibilities when the main painter is absent.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect prepared surfaces to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the painting team for seamless coordination in preparation and painting processes.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Prepper or similar role in a bodyshop environment.
- Proficiency in painting vehicles, with the ability to step into full painting duties when required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
- Skilled in using preparation and painting tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of coating materials, application techniques, and paint mixing.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to start early to mid-July for a smooth handover.
