Teaching Assistant

Long Term Futures working closely with a highly regarded SEMH school in NG13, Nottinghamshire, to recruit a passionate Teaching Assistant for a September 2025 start. This specialist independent school supports students aged 7 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a unique setting - combining woodland, farm-based learning, and therapeutic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
- Assist teachers with engaging, structured, and inclusive lessons
- Use therapeutic strategies to support emotional wellbeing
- Manage challenging behaviour with confidence and consistency
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people, especially those with SEMH or SEN
- A patient, empathetic and flexible approach to support
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate behaviour when needed
- A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
