We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our premises team at a highly regarded SEND school in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This full-time, temporary position is ideal for someone who is passionate about maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.
- Conduct regular maintenance and minor repair tasks to ensure the school facilities are kept in excellent condition.
- Perform routine checks to ensure safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the cleaning team to maintain cleanliness throughout the school premises.
- Set up facilities for school events and rearrange configurations as required.
- Monitor security of the school premises and report any security breaches.
- Liaise with external contractors for major repair works and oversee their activities to ensure quality.
- Assist in the management of the school's heating, lighting, and alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve issues promptly.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to attend to emergency situations outside of standard working hours, if necessary.
