Summary
Job Title: Afterschool Club Leader
Salary: CSET 10, £13.26 per hour. Actual starting salary £8,921 based on working 39 weeks
Hours: 15 hours per week
Working Pattern: 3pm - 6pm (Monday to Friday, term time only including inset days)
Contract Type: Fixed term until 31st August 2026
Location: Tortworth Primary School
We are looking for a passionate and creative Room Leader to lead our after school club team, working at Tortworth Primary School. This is a fixed term contract initially until August 2026 pending a review of funding. As a member of the team, you will gain valuable experience assisting the delivering a wide range of engaging and participative childcare activities; working with children from ages 4 - 11.This is a demanding but very rewarding role suited to someone who has relevant experience of working alongside children. You should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be able to engage with children positively. You will have a Level 3 qualification in Play-work or Early Years, or working towards it, and an understanding of the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care; and demonstrable experience of providing and facilitating safe and creative play. Your responsibilities will include: Oversee the running of the club, including the Play Assistants Plan and deliver safe activities with groups of children from all class ranges Engage with children encouraging them to participate in activities to promote learning and social development Support children on a 1:1 basis who have complex needs (if required) Encourage fair and caring behaviour among the children Encourage independence and self-esteem Ensure safety and safeguarding procedures are adhered to ensure children are kept safe Keep up to date knowledge of School policies including but not limited to GDPR and Behavior policies Assist with food preparation for serving breakfast and afterschool snacks
