Summary

SEN Science Teacher Required - Bristol

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of supporting secondary school aged students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you thrive in an environment where every student's individual needs are met with tailored support and a holistic approach?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Science Teacher to join a specialist independent day school in Bristol, starting this September. This school caters to pupils aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside other complex learning needs.

You'll be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, fostering a love of science in all students. A significant part of this role will involve tailoring your teaching within small class sizes (no more than nine pupils), ensuring every student can access a personalised curriculum and achieve their full potential. The school prides itself on a broad, balanced curriculum that integrates education, therapy, and "futures", offering in-house support from psychologists, therapists, and other specialists.

We are seeking a teacher who is:

  • An outstanding practitioner with QTS.
  • Experienced in teaching science across key stage 3, 4 and 5.
  • Highly skilled in supporting and differentiating for students with a range of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD.
  • Dedicated to creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment based on trust and mutual respect.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, ready to contribute to a school praised by Ofsted for helping pupils manage anxiety and make significant progress.

If you are committed to making a real difference in students' lives and thrive in a supportive and dynamic environment that prioritises individual pupil progress and care, we encourage you to apply!
