Summary
Job Purpose The education and learning team are a small team passionate about learning and building and delivering a high quality and innovative learning offer. Working across the whole hospice, this 4 day per week role will take the lead in clinical skills education and all other areas of clinical learning. The role will be expected to represent St Margaret's on key working groups as well as lead projects when necessary. Job Purpose Creating and supporting a learning environment, enabling learners to become skilled practitioners Working within the Education and Learning team, the post holder will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and external partners to contribute to building a highly skilled workforce and advocating for the best end of life care in Somerset. Building a skilled workforce The post holder will support all grades and discipline of clinical staff to achieve professional objectives in order to bridge the gap from theory to practice through the development, implementation and monitoring of training and development needs of an integrated clinical team. The post holder will also work across the hospice to support organisational priorities. Developing the clinical workforce of the future The postholder will lead on upskilling staff and ensuring that excellent care is maintained Working as part of a team The post holder will be responsible as a member of the team for the maintenance of a high standard of education and learning aligned to the organisations values Working with the Clinical Education Lead and the Education and Learning team in the ongoing development of training and education programmes for clinical staff at the Hospice, in order to ensure high quality care and patient safety. Responsibilities Working closely with the Clinical Education Lead to: Plan and produce appropriate training courses and resources for both St Margaret's Staff and external audiences. Lead the planning and delivering ECHO the online community of practice for external audiences planning and delivering programme, advertising, and monitoring. Working with IPU and community teams, plan and deliver a programme of clinical skills upskilling for all level staff including support to competencies Support students on placements across the hospice Contribute to innovation in learning e.g., development of VR in learning Evaluate learners progress and performance, varying the approach and resources as required. Actively contribution to smile, the learning management system content, compliance, development, and maintenance Work closely with key clinical stakeholders such as clinical governance and leadership of IPU and community teams. Have a flexible approach to the working week, being prepared to travel to Yeovil and other training venues. Taunton is the work base.
