Apprentice Electrical Engineer
The Role
As an Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of electrical systems for water treatment and distribution projects. This is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career with hands-on experience, training, and mentorship from senior engineers in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of electrical designs, calculations, and technical drawings.
- Support the development of single line diagrams, termination drawings, cable calculations, and instrumentation schedules.
- Learn to use industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Amtech/ProDesign.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
- Participate in site visits and surveys to collect data and assist in commissioning activities.
About you
Essential
- A genuine interest in the water industry and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Desirable
- An understanding of electrical principles and willingness to learn design standards (e.g. BS7671, WIMES).
