Summary


Are you anenthusiastic, motivated and committed Senior Pharmacy Technician? If so, we would like youto join our Pharmacy & Medicines Management Team?  You will need to have the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary teamof nurses, doctors and other allied healthcare professionals and managers. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of the clinical pharmacy service. You will need to have specific experience working with pharmacy teams and patients within the hospital setting.Youwill want to reach targets set by the Trust and by the pharmacy service. Youmustbe self- motivated and able to motivate others.

You will lead a team ofpharmacy technicians and provide operational support where required. You will support the provision of clinical pharmacy service to community hospital wards, urgent treatment centres and patients being cared for in their home environment ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmacy service.  You will have a particular role in implementing and monitoring the clinical pharmacy standards and working closely with the Chief and Associate Chief Pharmacist to identify service gaps.  You will be responsible for areas of service and line management of pharmacy technicians.  You will also be involved in working with the senior pharmacy colleagues in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services in line with the department’s and trust priorities.

The postholder must be able to show leadership skills and be driven to improve the care of the communities we serve through medicines management.

Collaborate with the pharmacy leadership to deliver safe, effective, innovative, and cost-efficient, value for money pharmacy services.

Develop and evaluate services to meet national standards and best practice guidelines e.g. CQC


Address governance issues to improve quality and safety across pharmacy services


Oversee technical pharmacy services, ensuring medication safety, timely delivery, and compliance with Trust policies


Manage stock to align with patient needs, ensuring efficiency and minimising waste in accordance with Trust processes and procedure
Lead policy, service development, and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department

Implement systems to provide accurate information on medicines to patients and support seamless transfer of care


Line manage a team. Responsible for people management including staff recruitment, training, performance management, supporting staff development to maintain a skilled, high quality workforce


Conduct audits, monitor prescribing activity, and use data to support cost-saving and compliance measures


Represent the Chief and/or Associate Chief Pharmacist in regional and national forums, contributing to best practice and leadership within the organisation


To be a positive role model and provide a high-profile level of
leadership whilst empowering others to deliver their objectives
and goals


To be proficient in the resolution of problems conflicting with
service delivery, deal with complaints or concerns in line with
departmental, trust and national guidance
