So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for a for Housekeeper at Tiernan Lodge/dispersed properties within the Wigan area, who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people, to join our highly engaged team and provide a professional and reliable cleaning service.
Tiernan Lodge is a homeless person’s scheme, offering customers the opportunity to make progress in their lives, to build resilience and meet their aspirations.
As our Housekeeper, you will carry out a range of high standard cleaning duties to all indoor (offices and communal areas) and outdoor areas of the building, providing a clean and hygienic environment for residents, staff and visitors.
You will ensure our flats provide residents with the highest standards of accommodation, you will be responsible for the deep cleaning of vacant flats, washing of bedding, preparing the flat for new occupants. You will also be required to work off-site in our vacant dispersed tenancies, to ensure readiness for re-let. You will be responsible for transporting cleaning equipment and replenishment items such as bedding, plates, kettles etc.
You will predominantly be based at Tiernan Lodge but will also be required to work off site, however you will be required to have ‘business use’ on your vehicle insurance to be able to reclaim your business mileage travelling to these properties. Ideally access to a vehicle would be beneficial for the role.

What will my working week look like?
The hours of work are 16 hours per week, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
First and foremost, you will be responsible for the first impression of our scheme to customers, staff, visitors and other professionals.
Other responsibilities of our Housekeeper will be:
- Reliability.
- Ability to manage own work load.
- Strong work ethic & attention to detail.
- Knowledge of cleaning products & relevant procedures (such as COSHH & PPE)
- Good communication skills.
