Summary

Tool Maker

Location: Leamington Spa

Hours: 39 hours per week (rotating shifts)
• Week 1 - Monday – Thursday 6.00am – 2.00pm, Friday 6.00 – 1.00pm
• Week 2 – Monday - Thursday 10.00am – 6.00pm, Friday 10.00am – 5.00pm

Salary: £36,182 per year + Shift allowance + Attendance bonus

The role

As a Toolmaker, you’ll be responsible for manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining production tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and custom equipment. You’ll work closely with the production team to ensure all tooling is safe, accurate, and fit for purpose, helping maintain our high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture, maintain and modify production tooling, jigs and fixtures
• Interpret engineering drawings to determine the best manufacturing methods
• Operate a variety of manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, grinders and mills
• Assemble and disassemble press tools, check tolerances and performance
• Diagnose faults and carry out tooling repairs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised Toolroom

What We’re Looking For:

• Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ or equivalent in Toolmaking
• Experience in a Toolmaker role within manufacturing or engineering environment
• Skilled in operating Toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment)
• Experience with press tool operation, fault diagnosis and tool repair, preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience in producing jigs & fixtures
• MIG welding experience (desirable)
