Summary
Educational opportunitiesThere are numerous educational opportunities at Barts Heart Centre, including:daily MDTs for coronary artery disease, valve disease, infective endocarditis and pulmonary diseasemonthly departmental audit meetings.regular teaching in the department of anaesthetics Additionally, the trust Skills Lab at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel offers equipment to enhance surgical skills and the trusts education department offers several courses relevant to surgical training. There is a well sourced library at several of the trusts sites. ResearchExtensive research facilities exist in the trust and especially at the Barts Heart Centre, where several studies are currently ongoing. Research is actively encouraged within the department and with other departments on the trust.
