Summary
African Community School is urgently recruiting for the post of Secondary School English Teacher who is willing to support children to improve their educational attainment and progress.

Job Description: We are looking for a Secondary School English teacher based in East London or in the UK with QTS status or equivalent to teach KS 3 and 4 face to face every Saturday. The teacher will also support children to prepare for their GCSEs
Hours: Every Saturday 10 AM - 1 PM
The teacher will be supported by staff & volunteers but will be expected to plan and deliver sessions using their own initiative.
Please note the role is subjected to DBS prior to commencement.
Successful candidates will be ready to travel to the venue on Saturdays during term time only. This may suit current part-time or full-time teachers.
We are currently looking for an English teacher to deliver English lessons every Saturday for Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 students in Year 7 - Year 10.
Successful candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:
Plan and prepare engaging lessons in line with English National Curriculum guidelines that aim to meet the needs of the pupils
Deliver engaging interactive lessons face to face. Classes will have no more than 10 students.
Set and mark appropriate homework for students
Provide meaningful feedback on pupils learning for parents
Work within ACS to meet curricular and departmental aims
Adapt and differentiate your lessons to meet the needs of pupils with additional support needs
Have a good working knowledge of I.T. to enable them to deliver lessons using the classroom technology/whiteboard
Be sensitive to the needs of students and maintain confidentiality throughout
Experience/knowledge of safeguarding
Report home to parents and be on hand to answer parental queries
All candidates are required to submit a CV and cover letter as part of the application.
