The National Railway Museum (NRM) in York is not only famous for its unrivalled collections but also for its visitor care. Our front of house team work hard to ensure our visitors receive a warm welcome and first-class customer service.
About the role
We are now looking for a number of Visitor Experience Assistants on a part time basis (21 or 28 hours pw) at NRM, fixed term for 2.5 years. If you&©re interested in working in a truly unique environment, gaining experience in top-class customer service, and enjoy working with people, we want to hear from you!
As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you&©ll be one of the first faces that our visitors meet, either at the museum entrance, being involved in meeting and greeting visitors, or supporting our commercial experiences, including the Flying Scotsman Virtual Reality Experience and our interactive gallery, Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery. Visitor Experience Assistants also engage with our visitors directly in galleries and on the museum floor. This role also includes the opportunity to work in the museum gift shops.
About you
Joining us as a part-time Visitor Experience Assistant, you will have an ability to work well in a diverse team, bringing an openness and ability to engage with a wide range of visitors. Being able to deliver great customer service is key, so you will be able to communicate, actively listen and convey information clearly. This is a front of house role, so an ability to follow operating and safety management procedures is vitall
