Summary
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Adult Learning Teacher to deliver the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges. This role involves delivering high-quality face-to-face and online teaching to adult learners looking to gain skills for support roles in educational settings. The course runs every Thursday 10am-2:30PM in-person, and additional online sessions can be arranged on flexible days.
Location: Hackney, London
Hours: Part-time (4.5 hours per week face-to-face every Thursday from 10am - 2:30pm, with additional flexible online teaching hours)
Salary: £20 per hour (depending on experience) for teaching, marking and assessment.

About the Role
As an Adult Learning Teacher, you’ll lead and deliver the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People through both face-to-face and online sessions. You’ll equip learners with essential foundational childcare skills, building their confidence and helping them succeed in their chosen careers. Your role goes beyond teaching – you’ll be shaping future childcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging face-to-face lessons every Friday and additional flexible online sessions.
2. Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources.
Teach learners at different ability levels, offering personalised support.
3. Prepare and assess assignments, using methods such as written tasks, presentations, and creative projects (e.g., booklets or information boards).
4. Support learners in developing a thorough understanding of the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
5. Track and monitor learner progress, providing constructive feedback.
6. Assist in curriculum development and ensure lessons are aligned with the awarding body’s standards and requirements.
7. Adhere to safeguarding policies to ensure learners' safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A Teaching Qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
2. Experience delivering adult education programmes, preferably in subjects related to Supporting Teaching and Learning.
3. Knowledge of the NCFE awarding body and its qualification framework.
4. Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
5. Ability to differentiate lessons for learners of varying abilities and backgrounds.
6. Enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain one before starting).
7. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality and diversity
Desirable:
1. Experience teaching adults with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs or for whom English is an additional language.
2. Knowledge of functional skills and vocational learning pathways in education settings.
