Job objectives and responsibilitiesThe Project Manager is responsible for delivering a project to transform the company's approach to subcontracting and vendor relationships. This person will be responsible for influencing and working closely with the on site Professional Works Manager to ensure that deliverables are kept on track and benefits are achieved. Responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, monitoring risks and interdependencies whilst having a hands on approach to gathering feedback from customers and engineers to consistently refine the approach taken.This person will be an entrepreneurial leader with experience in analysing complex operational and commercial challenges in order to provide clear direction and support to ensure results are achieved in a timely manner.Knowledge, experience & qualifications in Building, Mechanical & Electrical disciplines within the Industry, along with an accredited bodies membership.

Main Duties

-Responsible for the management of business change project.

-Help define project scope, goals and deliverables through the intelligent analysis of management information and operational understanding.

-Reviewing commercial contracts and financial plans to plan benefits and timelines for change

-Work closely & assist with the Professional Works Manager to ensure that Project Plans are accurately costed and implemented in a timely manner to ensure that wastage is minimised.

-Actively conduct availability and business readiness reviews to ensure sustainable business change.

-Define required processes, tasks and required resources

-Ensure that risks and issues are captured, logged and managed accordingly.

-Create and maintain a detailed project plan ensuring that milestones and core deliverables are delivered.

-Provide ad-hoc issue resolution and problem solving.

-Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.

-Representing Mitie's best interest and embedding Mitie culture through all processes.

-To have a demonstrable competency level of building services project management in the construction, refurbishment and FM sectors.

-Responsible for developing processes and ways of working to achieve project objectives.

-Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.

-Step in and assist site team and support supervisor coverage for high demand, sickness and holiday.

-Create robust comms channels with key stakeholders, ensuring expectations are effectively managed

-Interface with key stakeholders across the Mitie business and Transformation Programme at all levels and have credibility at Director level discussions.

-Making sure quality standards are met.

-Liaise with projects direct and subcontract managers and supervisors where applicable, to ensure the effective deployment in completing electrical, mechanical, building fabric and any other associated project works.

-Undertake, where necessary, site safety, CDM, method statements, risk assessments and site inspections in line with MITIE Property Management Procedures.

-Responsible for managing the project budget and aligning the benefits.

-Evaluating the success of the project against its benchmarking and sharing lessons or best practice with other projects.

-Undertake surveys, inspections, reporting and meetings during all elements of a project and to deputise, when required within monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio/client/management meetings.

-Involvement in KPI, Estates, Energy and Maintenance aspects of the business.

What we are looking for
-Project Management experience is a necessity, can be working towards a formal qualification in PM techniques.

-Experience within Construction, M&E or Property Services is essential.

-Management level of analytical, investigative and problem solving skills.

-Hands on essential for some minor works, good humoured and high energy.

-Stong financial understanding, with experience of financial planning.

-Experience of negotiating and managing commercial contracts is preferred#

-Effectively multi-task and impeccable organisation skills.

-Excellent leadership skills with uncompromising integrity.

-Graduate level qualification not a necessity, Techincal qualification and Accredited Body membership essential.

-To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.

-Health & Satefy experience & qualification required, comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

-Able to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.

-Expert level in core Microsoft office IT Skills (Excel, Word, Excel Projects & Power Point)
