Puppetry is the art of bringing inanimate objects (puppets) to life to entertain, educate, or inspire for cultural performances.
Career Paths in Puppetry
1. Puppeteer
• Performs with puppets (hand, rod, shadow, marionette, etc.)
• Uses voice, movement, and timing to convey emotion and story
• Often collaborates with directors, writers, and designers
2. Puppet Maker/Designer
• Designs and constructs puppets using materials like foam, fabric, wood, or latex
• Works closely with performers to ensure functionality
• May specialize in animatronics or digital puppetry
