- Manage internal engineering teams and external design partners/contractors.
- Drive optioneering, HAZID, and technical assurance processes.
- Produce, review, and sign off on technical documents, designs, reports, and risk assessments.
- Develop and review safety justifications, EIMT schedules, and substantiation evidence.
- Specify HV/LV systems and equipment (50Hz/60Hz) for complex industrial applications.
- Support planning for commissioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle transitions.
- Manage engineering change control, design concessions, and interface with safety cases.
- Lead internal peer reviews, independent technical assessments (ITA/IPR), and stakeholder engagements.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory, quality, and statutory EHSQ requirements.
- Contribute to periodic safety reviews and long-term asset integrity strategies.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or significant equivalent experience.
- In-depth knowledge of British and European electrical design standards.
- Strong track record in HV and LV electrical system design (both 50Hz and 60Hz).
- Experience across all design stages: concept, detailed, installation, and commissioning.
- Expertise in regulated, high-hazard sectors (e.g. defence, nuclear, maritime).
- Proven ability to develop and author technical justifications and substantiation documents.
- Familiarity with SCADA, HVAC, pumps, PAVA, and generator systems.
- Strong multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership experience.

It’s great if you also have the following

- Experience in nuclear or defence sector environments.
- Knowledge of UK safety case frameworks, including ALARP, HAZID, and HAZOP.
- Understanding of nuclear site licence conditions and safety documentation processes.
- Prior work within secure/restricted access environments and understanding of classified project protocols.
