Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Skills Centre at the University of Bath.

The Mathematics Resources Centre is looking for a Teaching Fellow to join an enthusiastic and hard-working team building high-quality maths, statistics and quantitative support materials, along with student-centred learning experiences.

We are looking for someone with the knowledge and skills to:
* deliver Maths and Statistics Help (MASH) from pre-university consolidation to higher-level techniques, via drop-ins, workshops and creative use of technology-enhanced learning
* develop Maths and Statistics Teaching (MAST) collaborations with academic colleagues across a range of subject areas

The MASH and MAST services provide high-quality support to all members of the university. We are a flagship for academic skills in the university and are well regarded at national level where we are involved in the work and leadership of the sigma Network.

Join our team and, through the continual review and improvement of our services, help us meet the needs of all our students!

About you

As a graduate with a good degree in the mathematical sciences or in a programme with high mathematical and/or statistical content your expertise and experience will include:
* knowledge of, and experience of, delivery and/or support of the quantitative, statistical and mathematical content used across a number of degree programmes
* exploring and responding in problem-solving situations
* use of technology enhanced learning for maths and statistics

You will have empathy with students who find learning mathematical and statistical skills challenging and will have reflected on mathematical pedagogy as you developed your approaches to communication. Through your experiences of delivering maths learning experiences to a variety of groups, including within a team, you will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to providing maths support.

A willingness and drive to extend your mathematical and/or statistical skills is essential and curiosity about engaging with the wider mathematics support community, for example through sigma, is beneficial.

Do you have the skills, experience, and motivation to help us to do this? If so, we encourage you to apply.
