About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join a secondary academy in Leeds from September 2025. This is a full-time position that offers you the chance to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress to inform teaching.
- Mark and provide constructive feedback in line with school policies.
- Promote literacy across the curriculum.
- Encourage a love of reading and writing across the school.
- Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE English Language and Literature exams.
- Contribute to curriculum development within the English faculty.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
- Organise and contribute to English-related extracurricular activities.
