Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 3 Natural Environment Officers (Arboriculture) to join our Greenspace-Biodiversity Service on a permanent basis. NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. If you’re interested in working within a service that touches on all aspects within the city, please read on. Position Details You will deliver a range of tasks covering tree inspections & surveys of GCC owned trees adjacent to highways, schools, properties, open spaces, Cemeteries/Crematoriums and Parks. You will inspect, survey and re-inspect trees as per the SLA as well as inspecting dangerous trees in emergency situations such as storms. Providing written responses to Senior Management, Elected Members and members of the public is also a requirement of the role. The successful candidates should have a background in arboriculture operations and have experience in delivering arboriculture projects, including on the ground e.g., tree planting, pruning, felling, tree dismantling and removal, etc. on a significant operational scale. A full current driving licence and a Lantra Professional Tree Inspection Certificate are essential requirements for this role. As is previous experience in an arboriculture capacity.
