The Facilities Manager/Site Manager (within The Salvation Army, this position is called Site Manager) will be responsible for the operational management of Strawberry Field buildings and land, and assist the Mission Director in the development of the Strawberry Field facilities and the day-to-day running of the project.Successful applicants must have; completed a recognised electrical, plumbing or joinery apprenticeship and must be able to evidence this with the experience gained in their field of expertise.The individual must be highly motivated and be able to work in a busy visitor centre environment and have proven experience working to deadlines and managing projects. You will also support and mentor, when required, trainees on our Steps to Work programme (young adults) who have learning difficulties or are neurodivergent.Role/duties:Manage and oversee the maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the Strawberry Field building and land to enable the delivery of programmes, activities and mission, as well as the smooth running of the site.Line Manage cleaning and security staff that will report directly to you.Ensure compliance to all current Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures relating to the building and grounds (this includes the maintenance of risk assessment documents and all compliance documentation).Being the lead person onsite in relation to construction and engineering projects, when they arise.
