Quality & Health & Safety Manager's Assistant - Precision Engineering Sector Location: Coventry

Permanent, Full-Time

We are proud to be partnering with a well-established and forward-thinking precision engineering company renowned for its commitment to quality and safety. Our client is seeking a highly capable and motivated Quality & Health & Safety Manager's Assistant to support their operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background and a proactive mindset to step into a dual-role focused on product quality and workplace health & safety.

About the Role: You'll be joining a collaborative environment, assisting the Quality Manager. From hands-on inspections and CMM programming to conducting risk assessments and COSHH audits, your work will directly support the company's mission to deliver excellence while ensuring a safe and compliant workspace.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing inspections at every stage of production, ensuring compliance with ISO:9001 and customer requirements
  • Creating, editing, and running CMM programs using QCT software (on- and offline)
  • Supporting internal audits and managing control plans
  • Conducting internal H&S audits, COSHH assessments, and coordinating external evaluations
  • Tracking and reporting KPIs on customer satisfaction, internal performance, and supplier quality
  • Assisting with risk identification, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining calibration systems and overseeing non-conformance handling

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Background in quality control, particularly machined components
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, and measuring tools
  • Knowledge of ISO:9001 and TS16949,
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards in engineering environments
  • Familiarity with Excel, pivot tables, data analysis, and documentation control
