Overview:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Resource Scheduler to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning and allocating work to a team of multiskilled field engineers, ensuring effective service delivery for both installation (provision) and repair tasks. You'll play a vital role in making sure engineers are where they need to be, when they need to be there - resolving customer escalations, improving processes, and helping the business run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and allocate field engineer jobs from 5 days in advance right through to same-day scheduling

  • Monitor and optimise field resource deployment using scheduling systems

  • Ensure maximum utilisation and efficiency of field staff

  • Collaborate with engineers, control managers, and central resourcing teams to resolve issues and maintain service levels

  • Handle customer escalations and urgent job requests professionally and in a timely manner

  • Build job tasks manually when required (e.g. Cloud Voice tasks where automation isn't in place)

  • Identify and flag risks in resourcing or allocation to the relevant stakeholders

  • Manage incidents and service routines within your assigned area

  • Support continuous improvement of scheduling and control processes

  • Contribute to the overall customer experience by ensuring timely delivery and repairs

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in scheduling, resource planning, or workforce coordination

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Comfortable using workforce allocation and planning systems

  • Able to work well under pressure and manage changing priorities

  • Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to working across departments
