Summary

My client based in Lichfield is currently recruiting for an experienced Shipping Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis working Monday-Friday 10:00-16:00 paying £12.21 per hour weekly pay

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping Administrator with a strong background in freight and logistics to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end freight booking processes, liaising with carriers and freight forwarders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. A solid understanding of Incoterms and international shipping documentation is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and book international and domestic shipments with freight forwarders and couriers (air, sea, and road).
  • Monitor and track shipments, proactively chasing up ETAs, and updating internal teams accordingly.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and compliant, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and provide timely updates to relevant departments.
  • Liaise with internal departments (sales, purchasing, production) to align shipping schedules with business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to customs, import/export regulations, and Incoterms 2020.
  • Resolve any shipment-related issues or delays by communicating effectively with freight partners.
  • Support general administrative duties within the logistics and supply chain team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a shipping or logistics administration role, preferably in a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
  • Solid understanding of Incoterms and international shipping procedures.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiar with logistics or ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of customs documentation and procedures is advantageous
