Summary
The post-holder is responsible for the operation of the Andrology laboratory and the supervision of practitioners, and biomedical support workers. The post-holder has responsibility for ensuring the timely processing of samples alongside quality management system activities within their remit. The post-holder is expected to apply scientific knowledge, skill and expertise at the required professional level for the full range of Andrology procedures, providing a high-quality service to patients. This level of responsibility is particularly important in Andrology where decisions may be made independently without the opportunity to refer to more senior staff. This post has direct clinical responsibilities for patient care through the provision of diagnostic services. The post-holder is expected to be involved in appropriate research. Fertility Fusion is regulated and licenced by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) enabling them to use sperm preparations in assisted reproductive treatments. The post holder is expected to process these samples.
