Summary

You will gain extensive experience in leading on Governance aspects within the clinical settings, organising and leading the team in audits, risk assessments and completion of investigations ensuring outcomes are actioned and disseminated as ongoing learning for the team. You will lead on IP&C issues ensuring cleaning standards are met by you and your team working in collaborative via the audit process and maintenance programmes. You will be actively involved in budget management of the clinical settings gaining exposure to aligning the budget to service and patient needs. This will encompass staff recruitment. Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and work within limits of competence To maintain high standards of care by personal example and conduct and be a credible practitioner in the area To be responsible for Ward/Department nursing staff and to provide a quality and cost effective service in accordance with Trust policy and procedures Ensure that accurate records are kept of all care given in the Ward/Department Act as the key person in the coordination and communication of complex, sensitive, emotional, condition related issues to patients, relatives and to the multi-disciplinary team Takes the lead role in assessing and ensuring that patients are correctly prepared for their operation/procedure for their operation/procedure including the monitoring of care standards through audit and other activities To develop a positive team culture and manage recruitment and retention of the workforce To demonstrate and promote professional, clinical and managerial leadership acting as a resource and providing guidance to own staff To ensure effective liaison and professional relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary teams To lead on the dissemination of information across the team and ensure that Directorate/Divisional and Trust communications are effectively passed on to all members and that staff concerns and interests are represented at Directorate level To assist the Deputy Divisional Nurse Director/Operational Manager in the effective management of the department/ward budget and Service Manager/Operational Manager to contribute to budget setting for the Department/Directorate
