We are seeking a Senior Design Technician to join an innovative and collaborative team. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain tools, materials, and equipment for design and technology lessons
- Provide technical support to teaching staff and students during practical sessions
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery and workshop tools
- Assist in the development of prototypes, models, and teaching resources
- Monitor inventory and manage procurement of materials and supplies
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, conducting regular risk assessments
- Offer guidance and training to junior technicians and support staff
- Contribute to curriculum planning and the implementation of new technologies or systems
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a technical or workshop-based role, ideally within education or design industries
- Strong knowledge of design processes, tools, and materials (woodworking, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead on technical initiatives
- Commitment to health and safety and high standards of workshop practice
