Your new company
My client is a well-established acoustic consultancy with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality noise and vibration services across the UK and internationally. Known for their pragmatic and non-corporate approach, they offer a collaborative, flexible working environment with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and professional growth.
They also have a sister business used for designing and manufacturing bespoke, specialist equipment for use in the acoustics industry.

Your new role

Assisting with Environmental Noise Assessments: Supporting senior consultants in measuring and analysing noise from sources such as wind farms, industrial sites, and entertainment venues. You'll help prepare reports for planning applications and environmental impact assessments.

Supporting Building Acoustics Projects: Helping to carry out on-site testing for sound insulation and noise breakout in residential and commercial buildings. You'll learn to interpret results and contribute to design advice.

Learning Legal and Planning Processes: Gaining exposure to planning appeals and nuisance cases, with opportunities to assist in preparing technical evidence and documentation.

On-site Measurements and Equipment Handling: Participating in fieldwork, setting up and operating sound level meters and other acoustic equipment. You'll also be involved in in-house calibration and maintenance of instruments.

Report Writing and Data Analysis: Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, including data analysis, charts, and clear summaries of findings under the guidance of senior staff.

Software Use and Training: You'll be using and receiving training with tools such as IMMI (environmental modelling), INSUL (building acoustics), and CATT (room acoustics), with a focus on understanding their strengths and limitations.
