We are a dynamic and growing signage company based in Bexleyheath, Kent, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of a wide range of signs and vinyl graphics. With a reputation for quality and creativity, we’re looking to expand our team with a motivated individual who can take ownership of both the design and day-to-day operations of our signage workshop.
Role Overview
As the Sign Graphic Designer & Shop Manager, you’ll lead the creative process and manage the smooth running of our production studio. You’ll combine hands-on design work with operational management, ensuring client jobs are completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Design signs, vehicle graphics, shop fascias, and window vinyls using industry-standard software (Adobe Illustrator/CorelDRAW/SignLab)
Prepare artwork for production and liaise with clients to finalise designs
Manage day-to-day production in the workshop: printing, plotting, and preparing materials
Operate printers, vinyl cutters, laminators, and other equipment
Oversee scheduling and workflow to meet deadlines
Maintain stock levels and order materials as needed
Ensure quality control and smooth handover to the installation team
Liaise with customers and suppliers in a professional, friendly manner
Train and supervise junior staff as required
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
Minimum 2 years' experience in signage or print design
Strong skills in vector-based design software (e.g. Illustrator, SignLab, CorelDRAW)
Knowledge of signage materials and production methods
Ability to manage projects from brief to delivery
Good communication and organisation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable:
Experience operating large format printers, vinyl cutters, and laminators
Previous supervisory or management experience in a sign shop
Familiarity with quoting and estimating jobs
