Support Worker

Part time (23 hours per week) and Relief contracts available

If you are passionate and have a genuine desire to help others, we are looking for Support Workers to come and join our dedicated team to help support individuals to live an independent and fulfilling life.
Real Life Options is a registered charity currently going through a period of growth, and we are continuing to search for permanent contracted Support Workers who really want to make an impact on the lives of the people we support.

The role

Rodger Lane is a supported living service. We support 6 residents with complex needs and nonverbal communication to develop new skills and explore new activities that they may enjoy.

We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centered care, providing a range of individualised support to people living in shared supported living properties and individual tenancies.

Our service users require full support with all aspects of their personal care, eating and drinking.
Staff are required to support with cooking, cleaning, medication, and providing access to the wider community to carry out activities of their choice.
We also support service users on holidays.

We have 2 house vehicles which we use daily to attend day opportunities and appointments so a driver would be desirable for this position.

Keeping relevant documentation and care plans up to date is an essential part of the role so we are looking for support workers with excellent communication skills – both verbal and written


Shifts

We are a 24 hour service offering support 365 days a year.

Shifts will be a variation of long and short, generally between 7am and 10pm on a rota basis.

Short days 7 – 3pm or 2pm – 10pm or 5pm – 10pm

Long days 7am - 10pm



Previous experience is desirable for this position although full training will be provided.

Driver preferable,

There is a high level of manual handling involved in this role, including wheelchairs and hoisting.

An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
