My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. We pride ourselves on being a unique service. We offer personalised support to a diverse range of individuals living in their own homes. Each person has their own dedicated team, delivering support that’s tailored specifically to their needs and preferences. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach—it's about making sense for them and making a difference.
About the Role:
This is an exciting role – part hands-on, part management – where you'll support adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs and mental health challenges in a community setting. You'll play a key role in shaping services that are person-centred, empowering and full of heart.
Key Responsibilities:
· Working on support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex health needs, and mental health conditions
· Supervising, mentoring and motivating a team of Support Workers
· Leading service delivery to ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance
· Supporting with rota planning, staff development, care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
· Participating in the on-call rota as part of the management team
· Contributing to the growth and development of our services in your local area
· Building strong relationships with families, professionals, and the wider community
Who We’re Looking For:
My Life is seeking a caring, reliable and confident leader who share our values and bring experience, heart and resilience to their work.
Essential Criteria:
A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – and willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already held
Direct experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and/or mental health challenges
Previous experience in a leadership role, such as Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager
Strong understanding of community-based support
Ability to lead and manage a team, handle complex situations and drive positive outcomes
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
A flexible and hands-on approach – this is role is split between our Standish site and your community location
Ability to participate in the on-call rota
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable:
NVQ Level 4 or 5 (or equivalent leadership and management qualification)
