Summary
Responsible for Multi drops and movement of materials to fulfil customer/inter branch orders to schedule within health and safety guidelines. General fair usage and maintenance of vehicle, adherence to driver and vehicle policy and all DVSA regulations. To enable safe and efficient receipt, delivery, movement and storage of goods via a company wagon or pick up vehicle to manifest provided. To maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition and adhere to all DVSA regulations, vehicle checks and tachograph procedures and insurance policy. To plan and adhere to the most effective and efficient routes to deliver materials to schedule whilst trying to minimise diesel usage where possible. To work efficiently and safely in the operation of machinery to lift and load/unload material onto/off the wagon to delivery schedule.
To work as part of a team with warehouse operatives/loaders/unloaders to safely and correctly load and unload materials in a timely fashion. To maintain and organise correct paperwork (Delivery Notes, Collects, Returns etc) from delivery runs. To assist in the management, storage and audit of stock in the warehouse through good housekeeping and maintenance of quality control procedures when not driving. To collect customer payments, write correct information on paperwork when required and to pass on to office admin or management upon return. To show courtesy and be helpful to branch/customers/suppliers when collecting, delivering or returning materials to warehouse. Maintain a safe workplace/vehicle without risk to health by proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and to implement measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the management. Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy as required. To maintain Drivers CPC and to ensure any driving license endorsements are within Insurance policy guidelines.
