The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Principal Waste Consultant to take the lead on high-profile nuclear waste consultancy projects. Based in Warrington, with flexible hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 from home), this is your chance to play a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most vital industries.
As a Principal Waste Consultant, you’ll be at the forefront of nuclear decommissioning and waste strategy, delivering expert solutions that support a safer, more sustainable future. You’ll:

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Provide specialist advice and lead the technical delivery of waste and decommissioning projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients
- Guide and develop technical staff, with line management responsibilities
- Support strategic bids and business development in line with consultancy growth goals
- Ensure all outputs meet environmental permitting, regulatory, and stakeholder standards

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Proven experience in nuclear waste management, including strategic planning and project delivery
- A strong background in leading technical teams and mentoring junior consultants
- Expertise in decommissioning, disposability assessments, or integrated waste strategy
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline

It’s great if you also have the following

- Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
