About the Role
We are working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Derby (DE24) to appoint a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant. The school has a strong reputation for nurturing young learners and is committed to providing high-quality support for pupils with SEND. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individualised learning and help children feel confident, settled, and supported.
This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for children with EHCPs or additional learning needs.
- Help create a calm and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Support the development and delivery of tailored interventions.
- Monitor, track and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
What We're Looking For
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a primary school SEN setting is essential.
- Confidence in supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties, or SEMH needs.
- A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to learning support.
