Be the Bridge Between Communities and Change

Are you passionate about making services work for everyone? At Spurgeons, we believe that the voices of local families, especially those rarely heard, are vital to shaping services that truly matter.

As our new Family & Community Liaison Navigator, you’ll play a key role in listening to communities, connecting families with what they need, and building partnerships that make change stick.

Working as part of the new Birmingham Family Hubs, you’ll:

Bring together families, services, and communities to co-design local offers
Amplify parent and carer voices at a local and citywide level
Build trust and reach families in harder-to-access communities
Support events, campaigns and consultation that drive local improvement
Be the first friendly contact for families navigating challenges
What your week will look like:

You’ll provide support to families dropping into the Hub, helping with immediate needs and signposting them to the right services.
Your week will include visiting local parent groups and attending community events to raise the profile of the Family Hub.
You’ll spend time connecting with local organisations like food banks, youth centres, and churches to build useful partnerships.
You’ll be gathering parent and carer feedback through consultations and running Family Voices panels to help shape services.
You’ll maintain clear records of your work, reporting on common themes and planning follow-up actions.

This is not just a role, it’s a relationship. One where your confidence, creativity and commitment will shape long-term solutions for children and families across Birmingham.

You’ll bring…

A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
Experience in community engagement, family support or partnership work
Strong communication, creativity and a flair for connecting people
Local knowledge and a collaborative spirit
Why join Spurgeons?

Because you care about doing things with families, not for them. Because you believe relationships build resilience. And because you want to work somewhere that sees your ideas as part of the solution.

Join us. Bring your whole self to a role that’s built on trust, impact and hope.
