Location: Remote working ( there may be a need to attend a central office - flexibility there required for Birmingham, London, Manchester or Swindon )

Our client is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety professional to play a key role in developing and delivering effective Health and Safety policies tailored to the needs of our department.
In this vital position, you’ll provide accessible expertise across all areas of Health and Safety, issue clear guidance, and promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance at every level of the organisation. You’ll support the implementation of new policies, help line managers make informed decisions with expert advice, and ensure documentation is thorough and up to date.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Policy Development & Implementation:Support the creation and roll-out of effective Health and Safety policies tailored to departmental needs, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
Expert Guidance:Serve as a readily accessible source of Health and Safety expertise, offering practical and proactive solutions across all levels of the organisation.
Awareness & Compliance:Assist in issuing clear guidance and fostering a strong Health and Safety culture through awareness campaigns, training, and targeted communications.
Effective Communication:Help ensure the successful dissemination, understanding, and application of new Health and Safety procedures and initiatives.
Managerial Support:Provide case-by-case advice to line managers, helping them make informed decisions on a variety of Health and Safety concerns.
Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Health and Safety policies, procedures, and communications.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience or relevant qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent).
Strong understanding of current Health and Safety legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence at all levels.
Ability to interpret and apply policies to real-world situations with clarity and consistency.
Organised, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Attention to detail and confidence in documenting procedures and producing clear guidance materials.
