At Toddletown, children are at the heart of everything we do. Our ethos centres on providing an enriching and supportive learning environment tailored to children’s individual interests and needs. With a passionate and highly supportive management team leading the way, we are committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for every child in our care.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Lunch Cover Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable mealtime experience for the children. You will help maintain a calm and welcoming environment, supporting children’s independence and promoting good eating habits. Your enthusiasm and caring nature will create a positive mealtime atmosphere, ensuring that children feel comfortable, engaged, and happy throughout the developmentally important lunchtime period.
Other key aspects of the role include:
Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring dietary needs are met
Supporting children with mealtime routines, encouraging healthy eating habits
Helping with tidying and cleaning up after meals to maintain a safe and hygienic space
Engaging with children through play and activities before and after lunch
Collaborating closely with the nursery team to maintain a nurturing and structured environment
Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of creating a supportive mealtime experience. While previous nursery or childcare experience is beneficial, we welcome applications from individuals who have a genuine passion for working with children and making a positive impact in their daily routines.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
A warm and approachable personality, with a nurturing attitude towards young children
Good communication skills to interact effectively with children and colleagues
An understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices within a childcare setting
A proactive and team-oriented mindset, eager to support the nursery’s daily activities
Why work for us?
At Toddletown, we recognise the value of our team and offer:
A supportive and welcoming work environment where teamwork is key
Flexible hours to suit your schedule
Training opportunities to support your development
The chance to be part of an OFSTED Outstanding nursery that prioritises excellence in childcare
“Happy Days Nurseries are committed to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care. As such, the successful post holder will be required to undergo a robust vetting process, including an enhanced DBS Check and Reference History Checks.”
