We strive to achieve these values in everything we do and we are seeking enthusiastic and committed people who are committed to making a positive difference to Ubico and to the people and neighbourhoods we serve.About the roleUbico is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Operations for Grounds and Streets to oversee the delivery of high-quality grounds maintenance and street cleaning services across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this pivotal role will provide strong leadership and operational oversight, ensuring our streets, parks, and open spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming. The successful candidate will drive innovation and efficiency, embed sustainable practices, and uphold Ubico’s values while working closely with partners to identify and deliver growth opportunities.You will lead the strategic planning and delivery of a wide range of services including grass cutting, tree care, street cleansing, fly-tip removal, and maintenance of sports pitches and cemeteries. A key focus will be on implementing biodiversity and environmental initiatives that support local and national climate goals. You’ll ensure services meet the highest standards of quality, value for money, and visual impact, aiming for prestigious recognitions such as Green Flag awards. This is a unique opportunity to shape vital services that positively impact community well-being and environmental outcomes across our regionsYou will needFull driving licence and own car available and insured for business use. This role will require travel across Gloucestershire and West OxfordshireRelevant degree or professional qualification in environmental management, horticulture or equivalent experience.Knowledge and experience of NEBOSH would be desirable.Experience of having operated as a member of a senior management team.Experience of providing advice to, and influencing, multi-function teams.Experience of working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders demonstrating effective partnership working, and collaboration.Ultimately we are looking for an experienced Head of Operations but we would also welcome applications from candidates looking to step up in their career.
