Summary

Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Northampton, NN4
Salary: £14.50 to 15.00 per hour and additional for sleep-ins
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
Social Care & Education are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Team Leader to join our children’s residential home in Northampton, NN4. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in residential children services who is passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive, grow, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of residential support workers
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Provide consistent, nurturing care and manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
• Complete and maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, and essential records
• Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, and care delivery at all times
• Participate in on-call duties when required (full training provided)
Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a social care, education, or residential childcare setting
• Level 3 or 4 QCF (or equivalent) in Residential Childcare is essential
• Experience working with children and young people with learning difficulties, emotional, and behavioural needs is preferred
• A consistent, fully verifiable employment or education history with no unexplained gaps
• Proven ability to supervise, support, and lead a staff team effectively
• On-call experience is desirable but not essential (training will be provided)
• A full UK or international driving licence is required (automatic vehicles available)
