Summary

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly organised, tenacious and compassionate individual to join our Disability Inclusion Service team.

As a Non-Medical Helper Coordinator, you will be integral in developing a new service and responsible for coordinating non-medical helper (NMH) services for disabled students. You will ensure that in-house support workers are effectively trained, scheduled, and equipped to provide the highest level of support.

As a new role, you will oversee the establishment of a NMH service, alongside our established third party supplied provision. You will be enthusiastic and be confident to work independently. Having a customer service focused approach, you will bring a positive and motivated energy to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a new team of support staff who work with our disabled students. Support the manager of the service to develop an internal non-medical helper service.
  • Coordinate non-medical support services for disabled students, including but not limited to notetaking, study skills coaching, mentoring, and assistive technology training provision.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students' needs and disabilities, collaborating with relevant professionals such as disability advisers and teaching teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external non-medical helper providers, ensuring the timely provision of support services and adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to non-medical helpers and staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support students effectively.
