Summary
Johan are one of Scotland’s leading distributors of fire rated door sets and architectural ironmongery. We specify, schedule and supply both timber door sets and ironmongery to suit the project brief and budget.
As part of our ongoing growth, we are opening a new trading unit in Musselburgh. Serving as our primary administration, specification and logistics hub, we have added an ironmongery showroom and from August 2025 we will be offering a trade counter service.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trade Counter Salesperson to join our growing dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong ability to engage and support our customers, ensuring an ongoing quality experience. Trade counter experience is not essential but would be preferred.

Responsibilities
• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide product knowledge and recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets.
• Participate in training sessions to stay informed about new products and promotions.
• Assist with the unloading, stocking and packing of deliveries.
Skills
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and cash management.
• A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service excellence.
• Working Hours: 07.30am–17.30pm Monday to Friday (45 Hours, permanent, full-time position)
• Location: Unit 17, Fisherrow Industrial Estate, Newhailes Road, Musselburgh, EH21 6RU

• Please note: A full, manual driving license would be preferred for this role or a commitment to achieve.
