The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of the Caerphilly Nature Recovery Action Plan (NRAP) and support the Caerphilly Local Nature (LNP) Partnership.
Responsibilities include providing advice for all functions and duties of the Council’s departments, external bodies, and members of the public to ensure the Council fulfills its statutory Biodiversity Duty under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and legal obligations under the Habitats Regulations 2010.
Additionally, the role entails promoting an understanding of biodiversity among the general public, Elected Members, and Council staff through advice, awareness-raising initiatives, and training.
The officer will also deliver grant-funded biodiversity project work, including capital and revenue biodiversity projects.
