Summary
Nursery Room Leader – Baby or Preschool Room | Up to £31,000 | 40 Hours Per Week
Our client, a warm and values-led childcare provider, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Room Leader to take the lead in either the Baby Room or Preschool Room at their beautifully designed nursery. The setting is centred around child-led, play-based learning and a commitment to creating a nurturing, stimulating space for children aged three months to five years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident early years professional to take the next step in their career — leading a small team, supporting children’s development, and shaping inspiring experiences every day.
What They’re Looking For
- Level 3 or above in Early Years – essential
- Previous experience in a nursery setting, ideally with some room leader or senior practitioner experience
- A nurturing, confident approach with strong knowledge of the EYFS
- Ability to lead and support a small team with care and professionalism
- Passion for supporting children’s development through play
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the Baby or Preschool Room
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote development
- Ensure high standards of care, safety, and safeguarding are consistently upheld
- Support, coach, and mentor team members in your room
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
- Track and record children’s progress in line with EYFS guidance
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and respectful nursery culture
