Are you an experienced contract manager with a strong background in housing capital programmes? Somerset Council is seeking a Housing Capital Programme Contract Manager to oversee and manage multiple complex housing projects, ensuring they meet cost, quality, and time targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Delivery – Manage contracts for housing projects, including decent homes, net zero, and environmental works.
Contract & Project Management – Ensure contractor performance, compliance, and reporting.
Financial & Procurement Responsibilities – Oversee budgets ranging from £10k to £3m and lead procurement activities.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement – Liaise with tenants, residents, elected members, and public groups, handling service requests and complaints professionally.
Strategic & Administrative Duties – Support business planning, policy development, audits, and IT system integration.
Problem Solving & Risk Management – Manage high-risk projects and ensure legislative compliance.
Building & Health and Safety – Maintain contractor safety and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
Leadership & Team Support – Provide guidance, deputise for the Housing Capital Programme Manager, and support new staff integration.
Requirements:
DBS Check: Basic
Driving Licence & Business Car Insurance: Required
Qualifications: Relevant professional-level qualification
Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability
