About the Role
This is an exciting time to join the Operational Risk and Environment department, which will give you the opportunity to actively increase your knowledge in relation to health and safety.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Providing a professional and comprehensive administrative service, including taking and producing minutes and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Providing support to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager and the wider Operational Risk team in delivering an effective service.
Collating and formatting documents and reports to a professional high standard ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and consistency.
The main focus of this support will be the of the provision of a professional and comprehensive administrative service and providing advice and support to colleagues in line with university arrangements for health & safety. You will actively participate in initiatives taken forward by the team. There will also be an element of data handling and analysis looking at trends in health and safety related performance You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across Facilities Management and with key stakeholders across the University, with the aim of helping to create a safe environment for our staff, students and visitors.

About You
As Health and Safety Assistant, you will have:

Experience planning and prioritising effectively and flexibly to meet deadlines.
Self-motivation with a drive for personal learning and development and a keen interest in health and safety.
Strong team working skills with little or no supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong IT skills with the ability produce and analyse data
