The Opportunity
A leading consultancy in the nuclear sector is seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety & Technical expert to join its growing team. Whether you’re supporting new build projects, decommissioning legacy facilities, or enhancing the safety of ongoing operations, this is a role where your expertise will drive real impact.

The role In this position, you’ll be a key player in delivering robust and technically sound safety documentation, contributing both independently and as part of a supportive team of consultants. You’ll manage small to medium-sized projects, build strong client relationships, and help nurture the growth of less experienced team members.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Leading the development of complex nuclear safety cases across the full facility lifecycle
- Presenting clear, well-reasoned technical arguments to clients and stakeholders.
- Managing projects to ensure they’re delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
- Supporting the long-term growth of the business by identifying client opportunities and maintaining a high-quality reputation.
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to exceed client expectations.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

- Proven ability to write and deliver complex safety cases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage your own time and coordinate others to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Proven background in a professional engineering or technical specialist role.
- Degree or equivalent in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of safety case production across various facility types and lifecycle stages.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, NEC 3 contracts, and key nuclear topics like human factors, decommissioning, and radioactive materials transport.
