Contract type: Full-time, long-term supply (Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, term-time)
Daily rate: £102

Rated "OUTSTANDING" by Ofsted this Primary special school caters to children aged 2-11 who have a range of complex and severe learning difficulties, including Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Sensory and Physical Needs. With many pupils requiring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require highly individualised support.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping learners access meaningful, personalised learning experiences and develop essential life skills. You will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis across a sensory and functional curriculum
- Implement communication strategies ( PECS, Makaton, AAC) and assist with sensory regulation
- Follow therapy and behaviour support plans, with full training provided
- Support with personal care, manual handling, and hydrotherapy sessions as needed
- Work collaboratively with Teachers, Therapists, and other LSAs to create a safe, consistent, and encouraging learning environment
The successful applicant will:
· Have experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs
· Have a calm, proactive and resilient with a person-centred approach
· Be comfortable with personal care and moving & handling tasks
· Have right to work in the UK and full-time availability
· PECS, Makaton, BSL or AAC training (desirable)
· Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (desirable)
· MAPA, Team-Teach, or similar de-escalation training (desirable)
