Are you a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a full-time role in a supportive primary school?
About the Role
Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Nottingham (NG8), recently rated "Good" by Ofsted. This is a long-term opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to create a structured and engaging classroom environment. This role has strong potential to lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Encourage positive engagement through movement-based and hands-on learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt strategies to individual needs.
- Track pupil progress and contribute to planning and review meetings.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, Early Years).
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting.
- Confident using behaviour management and communication strategies.
- A calm, proactive, and patient approach to learning support.
- Bonus: experience in an "active learning" or practical learning school.
