Summary
Are you passionate about shaping the future of work through impactful learning experiences? We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Learning & Development to lead our learning and development vision across the Microlise Group.
In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing the Learning and Development (L&D) strategic vision to cultivate a high-performing, future-ready workforce in line with business goals. Collaborating with senior leaders, functional heads and key stakeholders, you’ll align the L&D strategy with our overall business aims, including our offices in the UK, India, France and Australia.
You will be accountable for programme innovation and emerging technology, early careers, professional and talent development. Additionally, you will be responsible for the delivery of the full learning cycle, from needs analysis to return on investment. You’ll deliver impactful programmes and design learning solutions which foster our culture of continuous improvement.

What you will be doing:
Design and execute the L&D strategy to create high-performing, future ready people who are able achieve our business goals. This will include overseeing the design, deployment and delivery of training programmes
Partner and advise functional heads, senior leaders and the HR teams to understand and align L&D strategy with organisational needs
Develop and maintain robust L&D analytics and reporting mechanisms to provide real-time insights into program effectiveness, talent gaps, and ROI, informing strategic decision-making
Implement career development frameworks that align with Microlise goals and support employee development
Create and deliver succession development programmes in line with Microlise talent development needs
Leverage advanced technologies, including AI, analytics, e-learning platforms and LMS systems to enhance learning scalability, engagement, and effectiveness
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external training providers, vendors, and thought leaders to ensure access to best-in-class solutions and industry insights
Deliver core training where appropriate
Use learning theories and methods to maximise learning impact transfer and impact.
Implement and manage large scale learning initiatives
Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and company policies
Manage the training and development budget effectively
Work with best practice and arising trends within L&D
Lead and manage the L&D administrator
What we are looking for:
Previous experience in a senior L&D management position
CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent L&D qualification or degree
Proven experience of delivering effective L&D strategy and training programmes that deliver results
Demonstrable experience of working with L&D data analytics and data to inform decision making and evaluate programme effectiveness
Evident experience of leveraging innovation and emerging technologies
Excellent working knowledge of early careers, management, leadership, talent development and career progression
Commitment to a culture of continuous learning and development
Proven experience of managing and leveraging LMS systems
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
